SKN St. Pölten women – Kleinmünchen – the vest of the wolves remains white

A week before the big game against SK Sturm, the St. Pölten women had a (supposed) compulsory task on the program. And the SKN ladies did it in the usual way. Claudia Wenger replaced the ailing Leonarda Balog in central defence. The Lower Austrians were wide awake offensively – of course, Julia Zangerl in the Linz goal had something against an early decision.

Opportunities almost non-stop

After four minutes, Jasmin Eder came forward with a lob over the goal for the first time. Stefanie Enzinger, who formed the St. Pölten offensive team with Meli Brunnthaler and Mateja Zver, moved from the right side and a little later rolled the ball into the arms of the guest keeper after a Schumacher pass. A 20-meter shot by Lissy Meyer was in good hands with Zangerl.

Liberation from the point

The bulwark could only be breached with a penalty. After Elisa Vorhauer fouled Valentina Mädl, Jenny Klein took the penalty and sunk bombproof. The guests remained quite ambitious and also recorded a few good pressing moments. However, the female wolves were still dominant. Brunnthaler was passed from the right on the five by Enzinger, Zangerl saved with a foot defense. Shortly after the break, “Brunni” made up for her goal. Jungstar Mädl put the finishing touches.

Tyrolean top surprise

A sensation for the blue and whites was ultimately out of reach in the NV Arena. But Wacker Innsbruck took care of that. The Tyroleans scored twice in overtime, turned the game against the big favorites Austria Wien (2-1) – and passed the red lantern on to Altenmarkt. Wacker’s winning goal came in the 94th minute. The Triestingtalers now need a win in a direct duel to stay up in the league. A showdown in the very last round is looming.
