## Executive Summary & Cultural Positioning

SANDA is a 2025 animated television series set in a near-future Japan characterized by ultra-low birthrates, where children are treasured and monitored while Santa Claus is banned as dangerous. Created by Paru Itagaki and starring voice actors such as Ayumu Murase, Hiroki Tôchi, Umeka Shoji, and Yuuki Shin, the show follows middle-schooler and Santa descendant Kazushige Sanda after he is attacked on a snowy December 25th by a classmate named Fuyumura searching for a missing friend named Ono. Choosing to become Santa to protect children from adults, Sanda embarks on a journey filled with action, adventure, and mystery.

The series explores a society where declining birth rates give children higher social status than adults and Christmas is reduced to a forgotten legend. Blending animation, action, and mystery, the program presents a distinct cultural take on the mythos of Santa Claus within a heavily monitored, futuristic Japanese setting as Sanda confronts the adult world to locate the missing Ono and safeguard his peers.
