## Executive Summary & Cultural Positioning

Living Among the Rich is a television series released in 2011. The story follows a woman named Hye-Ja and her daughter, Ji-Eun, who relocate from their lifelong suburban home to the Cheongdam neighborhood. Ji-Eun anticipates that moving to this area will lead to a luxurious lifestyle, but the reality of their situation proves to be quite different. Upon arrival, the pair discovers that their new residence is located on the second story of a building that appears to be in danger of collapsing. The structure is situated directly between several luxurious buildings within the Cheongdam neighborhood. The building itself serves multiple purposes, as the first floor operates as a comic book shop, while the second floor functions as a lodging house. The narrative explores the contrast between the characters' expectations of prestige and the modest, precarious nature of their actual living conditions in this affluent district. The series focuses on the daily experiences of the mother and daughter as they navigate their new environment and adjust to their unexpected surroundings.
