## Executive Summary & Cultural Positioning

Chasing Comets is a 2018 Australian Christian comedy drama film directed by Jason Perini and starring Dan Ewing and Isabel Lucas. The film is based on the life of National Rugby League player Jason Stevens, who also wrote the screenplay, and was filmed on location in Wagga Wagga. The story is set in a country town that is deeply devoted to sport and divided over its loyalty to rival football codes, specifically Aussie rules and rugby league. In this setting, the narrative follows the protagonist, Chase Daylight, whose dream of playing professional rugby league begins to fall by the wayside, alongside his relationship with Brooke. Reaching his lowest point, Chase takes a leap of faith to sort out his life. However, living this out proves to be a significant challenge, particularly among teammates who resist his efforts to change and pressure him to continue his partying ways.
