The feature was already available to beta users for a few weeks and was officially made available to the general public this Thursday morning (2).
By sharing a link with someone who also uses Spotify, both of you will have access to a history with the percentage of similarity between the two, as well as a play list full of songs heard by the duo.
The tool is perfect for the user to discover common tastes and what their partner hears differently.
Any user first or free, you can join Spotify Match and compare songs. However, subscribers have access to some additional data, such as seeing which tracks both or only one of the users are listening to.
Step by Step
See below how to create your Spotify Match by mobile phone:
1) Open your Spotify and go to “Look for”. find the tab “Finished for you”.
2) Find the area “Playlist for 2” and click “Create a match.”
3) Share the link with the person you want. Remember that the recipient must be a Spotify user (free or paid).
It is not possible to use the same link with multiple people. To verify your musical match with different people, you need to create different links.
4) When the person accepts, they will be notified.
5) Go see the play list.
