JAKARTA – How to search Diamond was easily successfully carried out by a team of researchers from the Cooperative Institute for Dynamic Earth Research (CIDER). In fact, this team managed to estimate the diamond content of more than one quadrillion tons scattered throughout the layers of the earth.
Quoted from Inverse, Roberta Rudnick, a professor of earth sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara, said that diamonds are actually not very rare minerals if humans know how to mine them.
A new study in Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, conducted by Rudnick and his CIDER colleagues found that there may be more than a quadrillion tons of diamonds scattered across Earth.
Diamond it is buried within a very deep slab of rock that runs between the planet’s crust and mantle. These ancient, immovable rocks are known as cratonic roots, and the diamonds embedded there lie 90 to 150 miles below the earth’s surface.
Harvard University co-author and postdoctoral fellow Li Zeng, Ph.D. explained, during the research the team found evidence of strange anomalies deep within the Earth. This is done when the team will research and study sound waves or seismic activity, to study earthquake events.
The resulting data can also help explain the contents of the Earth’s interior. The team caught sound waves moving very fast as they passed through the palace.
Initially, Zeng said, there were several possible explanations for this seismic data anomaly. However, from all the explanations, the team revealed the possibility that the seismic data showed its existence Diamond .
