Saudi TV: A ballistic attack on the eastern region was thwarted.. Video clips were transmitted from Dammam

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The coalition in Yemen, led by Saudi Arabia, announced that it had thwarted a ballistic attack on the eastern region of the Kingdom, on Saturday evening, according to the official Saudi “Al-Ikhbariya” channel.

“Al-Ekhbariya” quoted the coalition as saying that “a hostile ballistic attack towards the eastern region was intercepted and thwarted.”

The Saudi authorities have not yet clarified more details about the attack, and the exact locations it was targeting, while the coalition talked about the interception of other ballistic attacks targeting the Najran and Jazan regions (southwest of the Kingdom), according to the “Al-Ikhbariya” channel.

In separate statements, the UAE, Bahrain and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned the attacks, calling for a decisive stance from the international community towards the Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia.

And videos attributed to the attack were transmitted – CNN Arabic could not verify its authenticity. Those who transmitted the clips said that they showed the moment a missile flew within the city of Dammam (east of the Kingdom).

The Houthi group in Yemen had claimed an attack on Aramco oil company facilities on March 7.

Aramco’s headquarters is located in the Dhahran region, between the cities of Dammam and Al Khobar.

The exact location of tonight’s attack in the Eastern Province has not been officially confirmed.

In the March attack, the Houthis used ballistic missiles and drones at the Ras Tanura refinery and the residential neighborhood of Aramco in the city of Dhahran, according to statements by Saudi officials at the time.
