To experience Hugo von Hofmannsthal’s “Jedermann” live on Salzburg Cathedral Square – this wish came true and turned out to be a unique highlight. Visiting a concert in the old Mozarteum was also an experience. The wonderful baroque city is more than Mozart’s birthplace and the city of Salzburg dumplings, as the study trip made clear. The program also led up to the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the city’s landmark. In addition, the nearby Obersalzberg in Berchtesgaden was visited – once Hitler’s vacation home. Today the place houses the documentation center of the Institute for Contemporary History as a place of learning and remembrance. Also the Salzkammergut with its magnificent landscape, wonderful lake landscapes and the historical places like Bad Ischl and the Wolfgangsee were part of the program. (red / sc)
