Premier League: Man United celebrate last-minute win over West Ham – Football – International

Manchester United celebrates a last-minute 1-0 home win against West Ham United on Matchday 23 of the Premier League.

Everything looks like a draw until just before the end. Cristiano Ronaldo falls in the penalty area, but the penalty whistle does not come (36′). Alphonso Areola excels in a Fred shot (50.) The whistle also remains silent in a penalty scene involving Bruno Fernandes.

In the 88th minute, West Ham almost managed the lucky punch. A header from Soucek narrowly misses the goal. Shortly before the end, Ronaldo also has victory on his feet again, but he fails again at Areola. Marcus Rashford redeemed the Red Devils in added time with the winning goal after Cavani’s preliminary work (93′).

Man United have now overtaken West Ham in the table and are now fourth (38), one point ahead of West Ham (37). However, Tottenham, Arsenal and Wolverhampton could still overtake the two clubs with different amounts of supplementary games.

Wolverhampton stay on track with a 1-0 draw at Brentford. Moutinho made it possible for Wolves to win with his goal in the 48th minute. Wolverhampton are eighth after 21 games with 34 points, while Brentford are 14th.

Newcastle United celebrate an important 1-0 win in the relegation battle away at Leeds. Shelvey scored the winning goal in the 75th minute. The Magpies improve to 18th but are still in a relegation zone on 15 points, with Leeds 15th.
