Plus Wensveen in the Dorrestein shopping center revives the history of Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel through a book. The book has room for more than 180 photos that customers receive from the supermarket when they go to get groceries in the supermarket. Customers receive 4 photos per 10 euro purchase.
Herman Wensveen, owner of the Plus, has sought cooperation with the Historical Association Nieuwerkerk, resulting in a unique history book. Thanks to their knowledge, HVN was able to mention many details from the past in the book and provided the accompanying photos. Wensveen is full of praise for the collaboration and the end result and out of gratitude he made a donation with a check.
The first copy was for Mayor Weber who emphasized that it was not only a lot of recognition for older residents, but that the book was also instructive for new residents. The book is available for free with a coupon in Hart van Holland. If you don’t have a coupon, you can get it at the store, but while supplies last.
