The soldiers of the Loiret road safety squadron carried out a night traffic control action in Eure-et-Loir, on the A10, in the province-Paris direction.
At around 10:30 p.m., they intercepted the driver of a Renault Mégane traveling at 179 km / h, in a sector limited to 130 km / h. The driver, residing in Tours (Indre-et-Loire), was subject to immediate retention of his driving license.
Night record at 249 km / h
Around 11 pm, it was the turn of a driver of a Tesla to be caught by the gendarmes while he was driving at 181 km / h instead of 130. Behind the wheel, a driver living in the Hauts- de-Seine. His driver’s license was immediately detained.
Around half past midnight, the gendarmes saw a Mercedes (63 AMG) in their binoculars. The screen displayed a speed of 249 km / h! But depending on the precise model, this German 500-horsepower car can reach between 250 and 280 km / h.
The speed retained by the gendarmes of 236 km / h did not change much in the procedure. The driver, from Loir-et-Cher, was subject to immediate withholding of his driving license. And the impoundment of his car, unlike other drivers who, they waited for the arrival of a loved one to hit the road with their vehicles.
These significant speeding violations encourage the gendarmerie to maintain its presence on the A10, especially in the evening and at night.
Alternative controls in Chartres: a motorist intercepted at 158 km / h instead of 90
