Offenbach has the highest 7-day incidence nationwide – FFH.de

This is a really inglorious top position: The city of Offenbach currently has the highest 7-day incidence nationwide at 236.1. Apparently, it is the return of vacationers to blame.

120 children tested positive

In the past week alone, 120 children between the ages of five and twelve tested positive in Offenbach. It was no different with their families, many of them were probably infected. According to the city, these are mainly holiday returnees.

Mask requirement, tests and air filter devices

Because the children cannot be vaccinated yet, it is mandatory to wear a mask at the table in schools until the end of September and there are sometimes daily tests. More than 1,000 air filter devices were installed in the classrooms during the holidays, and more are to follow.

Comparatively few positive tests in schools throughout Hesse

Overall, however, there were comparatively few corona cases at Hesse’s schools after the first few days of the new school year. Around 1,000 schoolchildren and around 60 teachers are in official quarantine, said the Ministry of Culture in Wiesbaden. Before the Christmas holidays at the end of last year, the number was significantly higher with up to 18,000 students.
