A few days before the launch of the Nothing Phone (2), the smartphone is shown in a hands-on video, right next to its own predecessor, so that the small but interesting design innovations can be seen in detail.
After Nothing boss Carl Pei published the first camera samples of the Nothing Phone (2) today, the smartphone is shown in the hands-on video embedded below Marques Brownlee in detail. The design changes fall compared to the Nothing Phone (1) (about 380 euros on Amazon) relatively small. The black version of the new model is rather dark gray, the LED lighting on the back known as the “Glyph Interface” can be controlled by the software in 33 instead of twelve areas.
As before, these are just white LED strips, but the new subdivision means that they can be used in a more versatile way, which, among other things, allows more flexibility for the animations of the DJ group Swedish House Mafia. The glyph interface on the new model also provides information about the volume when it is adjusted and can show the progress of a set timer. Nothing allows third-party app developers to access the Glyph interface. The back is much more rounded towards the edges.
The front can only be seen briefly in the video, but the clip confirms that Nothing relies on a flat display with relatively narrow bezels and a centrally placed punch-hole front camera. The Nothing Phone (2) is expected to be officially unveiled on Tuesday, July 11th. The smartphone will be launched at prices starting at 729 euros, and in addition to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, it will also have a larger display and camera upgrades, but the battery will remain at a capacity of 4,700 mAh.
