Norwegian-Dutch Renate Nyborg becomes Tinder’s new top manager – E24

Jim Lanzone resigns as CEO of Tinder. Now Norwegian-Dutch Renate Nyborg will take over the helm – as the dating app giant’s first female top manager.

This is confirmed by Tinder owner Match Group in a press release.

– Becoming a director of this company is truly an extraordinary opportunity, which makes me humble, says Nyborg.

Until recently, she has been Tinder’s head of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Nyborg has previously worked at Apple with responsibility for the IT giant’s subscription-based app services in Europe.

“Throughout his career, Renate has demonstrated his flair for developing mobile products, securing growth in subscription services and expanding services to new markets and appealing to younger users,” said Match CEO Shar Dubey in a statement.

Tinder had sales of $ 1.35 billion in 2020, an increase of $ 200 million from the previous year. This year, the company expects revenues to increase a new 25 percent.

The company was started in 2012 and has so far only had male top managers.

Nyborg is married, and even met her husband through the dating app.

– I swiped to the right of my husband, and it changed my life, she says.
