New Study: Aliens Get Energy from ‘Black Holes’ – Aliens can power their society by harvesting energy from black holes or black holes, say the findings of a surprising new study.

according to Live Science, Wednesday, September 8, 2021, a team of scientific researchers said extraterrestrials could, theoretically, use a hypothetical megastructure called a Dyson sphere, which would surround the star in a tight formation of orbiting platforms to capture starlight and generate power.

This leading scientific team doesn’t just say that this kind of amazing technology is possible. But they believe it could radiate in a way weird enough to allow telescopes on Earth to spot aliens.

In 1960, physicist and astronomer Freeman J. Dyson proposed using an orbiting solar collector to harness all the energy of a star or sun, creating the giant megastructure needed to do so into a Dyson sphere.

The research team, led by astronomer Tiger Yu-Yang Hsiao of National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, looked at whether one of these could actually be built around a black hole, as stated in their paper entitled ‘A Dyson sphere around a black hole‘ published in July in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

In the study, they looked at possible emissions from the accretion disk around the black hole, its corona, and even the relativistic glow emitted by the black hole.

“Typically, an accretion disk can provide 10,000 and even more of the energy you get from a star like the Sun,” Hsiao said. “So instead of hunting for 10,000 stars like our Sun, we could find one black hole and build a Dyson sphere around it and that would be much more efficient.”

Not only that, the team says building a Dyson sphere around a black hole instead of a star would “save a lot of material” because black holes are much smaller.

Aliens could place large satellites in stable orbits around black holes to collect X-ray energy using something similar to solar panels, said study co-author Tomotsugu Goto, also of National Tsing Hua University.

The team now plans to net the billions of objects cataloged by Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) NASA and the Pan-STARRS telescope in Hawaii to see if they could spot any sign of the Dyson ball present.

They say the energy re-emitted from the structure will shift to longer wavelengths. So a Dyson sphere around a black hole may emit energy signatures that cannot be explained in the ultraviolet or infrared.

“A black hole is one of the brightest objects in the sky,” said Professor Hsiao.

He added: “If it could actually be found, I would be overjoyed.” (eh)
