The MTV Music Video Awards will have a dose of “Bieber fever” for the first time in six years, due to the “surprise” return of Justin Bieber on the awards stage for a main event on September 12 at the Barclays Center in New York.
The pop star tops the list of nominees this year with seven mentions, including video of the year and artist of the year. Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, BTS and Drake are other of the most postulated.
The last time Bieber took the stage at the VMAs, as these awards are also known by their acronym in ingLes, performed “What Do You Mean” in 2015.
OOther artists to be featured include Lil Nas X, Camila Cabello, Chloe, Kacey Musgraves, Shawn Mendes, Olivia Rodrigo, Machine Gun Kelly and Doja Cat, who will also lead the ceremony. The Foo Fighters will receive MTV’s first Global Icon Award.
In the category of Best K-pop Song competing the successful quartet BLACKPINK & Selena Gómez with their collaboration Ice Cream, (G) I-DLE with “DUMDi DUMDi”, BTS with Butter, SEVENTEEN and the single Ready to love and the girl group TWICE with Alcohol-Free. (With AP information)
