Jennifer Lopez wished she had gotten more action roles when she was younger.
The 53-year-old singer and actress has spent many years doing rom-coms. She’s taken things into steered in a different direction.
Jennifer says she enjoys the thrill of playing a tough character on screen. During an appearance on ‘The View,’ Jennifer explained, “‘The Mother’ was a lot of fun and a lot of work too… I wish I’d gotten those kinds of roles, which funnily enough I’m getting now when I was a little spry. Just a little bit, you know, younger… These roles are kind of empowering and I feel strong and good. And it was great.
She went on to explain that the film executives decided to carefully plan the fight scenes for ‘The Mother’ so that Jennifer could use her time more efficiently. The star added: “We have to be efficient. I can’t fight eight hours a day. After about an hour I’m like, ‘Okay, that’s enough.’ So they had to be very efficient and choreographed it almost like a dance, which is good for me as I’m a dancer.”
During the interview, Jennifer also opened up about her marriage to fellow film star Ben Affleck, revealing that he is a brilliant father to her twins from her marriage to Marc Anthony. She said: “He’s honestly the best dad I’ve ever seen. He’s so involved. He teaches me how to deal with the children. He’s just so in tune.”
