Rating agencies Fitch and Moody’s downgraded Russia to the category of countries at risk of not being able to repay debt, in the context of the invasion of Ukraine.
Moody’s lowered its long-term debt rating from Baa3 to B3, keeping it under scrutiny given the sanctions imposed by Western countries on Russia. Fitch downgraded the rating from BBB to B, with a negative outlook. These ratings put Russia’s debt on the ‘speculative’ level.
