In any case, this is the opinion of Azeddine Ibrahimi, member of the Scientific Committee, who felt the need to publish a new post on Facebook to directly address citizens and in particular the most skeptical of them, in order to call on them to join the campaign launched by the Ministry of Health. According to the expert, several reasons explain the use of the additional dose, the most important of which is the risk of mortality. “80% of vaccinated people who died from Covid-19 succumbed to the virus after six months of receiving the second dose,” he said, attributing this to the drastic drop in immunity after six month.

“We do not need to be geniuses to understand the urgency of the third dose for vulnerable people and front-liners who are more exposed than other categories of the population at the risk of contamination,” continued Mr. Ibrahimi, stating that the third dose is recommended by the United States Medicines Agency and in no way contravenes any recommendation of the World Health Organization.

Regarding the vaccine used, the member of the Scientific Committee, president of the Biotechnology Laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine in Rabat could not be clearer: there is no harm in being administered a vaccine different from the one injected during the first two. appointment.

“I recommend the use of Pfizer for people vaccinated with AstraZeneca, on the other hand, free to those who are vaccinated by Sinopharm to choose the vaccine that suits them”, recommended Mr. Ibrahimi, according to whom, the mixture of vaccines allows to strengthen immunity in a more remarkable way.

Azeddine Ibrahimi did not fail to speak about his personal case, confessing that he himself was administered a dose of Pfizer, after being vaccinated by Sinopharm. The choice of the American vaccine seems the preferred option of people who aspire to international mobility.

A few days before the start of autumn, the debate on vaccination against seasonal influenza resurfaces as usual in the public debate. Hence the fear for vulnerable people of the risk of taking the flu vaccine and the one against Covid-19 at the same time. Azeddine Ibrahimi said that this fear is not scientifically justified, because nothing prevents taking the two vaccines at the same time.
