Microsoft Flight Simulator resurrected Microsoft’s beloved franchise with the launch of its PC last year, and it turned out to be so much better than anyone could have hoped for. Earlier this year, it followed up with the launch of a console, which was also surprisingly great. Soon, it is going to have another release.
Microsoft has announced Microsoft Flight Simulator Game of the Year Edition. It will include the base game and all the updates that have been released since its launch last year, along with a ton of new content for players to dive into. This will include 5 new aircraft (Boeing F / A-18 Super Hornet, VoloCity, Pilatus PC-6 Porter, CubCrafters NX Cub and Aviat Pitts Special S1S) and eight new airports (Leipzig / Halle Airport, Allgäu Airport Memmingen and Kassel Airport in Germany. ; Lugano Airport, Zurich Airport and Luzern-Beromunster Airport in Switzerland; and Patrick Space Force Base and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in the United States).
There will also be new Discovery Flight missions in six locations (Helsinki, Freiburg im Breisgau, Mecca, Monument Valley, Singapore, and Mount Cook), a total of fourteen new tutorials, several new features (including an updated weather system, early access to DX12, and a dev mode playback system) and new photogrammetry cities (including Helsinki (Finland), Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany), Brighton, Derby, Eastbourne, Newcastle and Nottingham (UK) and Utrecht (Netherlands)).
In the meantime, anyone who already has Microsoft Flight Simulator on PC or Xbox Series X / S will be able to upgrade to GOTY Edition for free.
