Kannur | Mansoor, a Sunni activist in Panur, has been remanded in custody in connection with the murder of a CPM activist. Thalassery first class magistrate court remanded CPM local activist KK Shinos for 14 days. The arrest of Shinos, who was in custody the previous day, was recorded today. He is also a neighbor of Mansoor.
Meanwhile, the crime branch will investigate the murder case. A 15-member investigation team has been appointed for this. District Crime Branch DYSP Ismail is in charge of the investigation.
Shinos was taken into police custody yesterday in connection with the murder. Police have intensified their search for the other accused in the case. Police said they had identified 11 people. Meanwhile, police have reportedly taken into custody ten League activists in connection with the attack on CPM offices and others during the mourning procession. 20 vehicles were also seized.
Shinos told police that the attackers were targeting Mansoor’s brother Muhsin. But Muhsin’s brother Mansoor arrived at the scene unexpectedly. According to Shinos, the bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police station.
