Bern Welcome and the Gantrisch Nature Park have officially opened the Gantrisch legend route in Riggisberg (BE).
Ride through fairytale forests on two wheels, curve over legendary hills, cross mystical gorges and discover inspiring legends along the way: the Gantrisch legend route, which is around 64 kilometers long, offers a scenic cycling experience.
Connoisseurs can look forward to fine menus with regional ingredients in the inns along the cycle route specially designed for e-bikes. Numerous farm and village shops also offer regional products from the Gantrisch Nature Park.
What distinguishes the new Gantrisch legend route?
At the six adventure stations, guests can scan the QR code on the board and listen to the legend, which is told by authentic voices from the region, on their smartphone on site. Anyone who prefers to read the saga will find it in the secret compartment on the left side of the stele.
«In addition to the fascinating nature, there are some cultural treasures near the city of Bern. This also includes the legends that arose in this region and which still stimulate reflection today, about life then and now, ”said Manuela Angst, CEO of Bern Welcome, at the opening on Thursday in the Riggisberg Castle Garden.
New offers: e-bike holidays and pleasure trips
«After the bike tour, let the evening fade away comfortably in an inn along the Gantrisch legend route, enjoy a seasonal menu and comfortably drink a legendary tea – that sounds wonderful, we thought. That is precisely why we have created the “Legendary Gantrisch” and “Legendary Combined” overnight stays together with the Gantrisch Nature Park, ”explains Manuela Angst.
The next day, rested and strengthened, you continue on the second stage of the scenic cycling route. For day trips there is a new “pleasure trip” offer, where cyclists between Schwarzenburg and Burgistein can look forward to a three-course menu in three different restaurants.
Cycling experiences thanks to strong partnerships
The staging of the legendary route Gantrisch was implemented by the Destination Management Organization Bern Welcome in close cooperation with the Gantrisch Nature Park, the slow traffic department of the cantonal civil engineering office, the municipalities and the actors along the route.[RELATED]
The project, which aims to increase added value in the region, is supported by the federal and cantonal governments as part of the New Regional Policy NRP. Cycling is a strategic positioning issue for the Bern destination and will be a central part of the Bern Welcome market development in the years to come. E-bike fans can look forward to more exciting cycle routes in the destination of Bern. (htr)
