UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently trained with a top-class athlete ahead of his fall match against Stipe Miocic.
Jon Jones is getting ready for his first title defense as a heavyweight
Jones made a comeback earlier this year after a three-year absence. The American fighter defeated Ciryl Gane and captured the heavyweight belt during UFC 285 in Las Vegas. After the bout, Jones expressed his desire for his first heavyweight title defense to preferably be against Miocic. The former belt holder is one of the most prominent heavyweights in UFC history and has more title fight wins than anyone in the heavyweight division, including two wins against the former two-time champion Daniel Cormier.
Miocic last stepped into the cage in March, 2021, during UFC 260. There he lost his title to Francis Ngannou in their return match. Jones is considered by many to be the greatest light heavyweight of all time and also one of the best in MMA. He could solidify his position as one of the best at any weight class if he defeats Miocic.
The heavyweight champion rolls with the BJJ ace
Below, the reader can see what it looked like when Jones trained with the BJJ ace Gordon Ryan before the game. Over the years, 28-year-old Ryan has picked up five golds in the ACDD World Championships and three golds in the World No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
