Duque’s intervention will take place at a time of a serious social crisis in Colombia, in which all sectors of the citizenry ask for dialogue with the leader, who militarized the cities to control the protests, but this fact triggered at least 18 deaths of protesters at the hands of the National Police.

In Miami will be, in addition to Moreno, the secretary general of the Organization of American States, Luis Almagro, and the former presidents Mauricio Macri (Argentina), Andrés Pastrana (Colombia), Luis Guillermo Solís (Costa Rica) and Osvaldo Hurtado (Ecuador), as well as academics and political analysts.

For various reasons, the presidents of The Savior; Nayib Bukele, Paraguay; Mario Abdo Benítez, and Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado Quesada.

According to the president of the IID, the former mayor of Miami Tomás Regalado, who will welcome the forum participants tomorrow at the Biltmore Hotel, this meeting is going to be a “cry” in favor of democracy.

The program includes panels on “Aggression against Democracy in the Americas”, “Dictatorships in the Americas”, “Democracy and dictatorships of organized crime” and “Defense of Democracy” and closes with the presidential panel in which Lenin Moreno will be the main speaker.

Former Bolivian minister Carlos Sánchez Berzaín, executive director of IID, told Efe on Tuesday that Moreno, who will leave the Presidency this month, gave a “lesson” by defending the democratic system in Ecuador after having won the elections as a candidate for “correísmo”, which was “pure Castro-Chavism”.
