It’s Getting Harder to Believe Football Awards

Former Spanish and Real Madrid goalkeeper, Iker Casillas, commenting about the victory Lionel Messi from Ballon d’Or 2021. Casillas disagreed with the result.

Lionel Messi has been named the winner of the 2021 Ballon d’Or at a ceremony in Paris on Tuesday (11/30/2021) early morning WIB. The Argentine star excels Robert Lewandowski and Jorginho who finished second and third in the voting.

Messi’s victory invites pros and cons. Not a few think that the Paris Saint-Germain player does not deserve to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

Messi last season scored 38 goals and 14 assists to bring Barcelona to the Copa del Rey. He also led the Argentine national team to win the 2021 Copa America.

Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski won the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Jorginho led Chelsea to the Champions League title and success with Italy at Euro 2020.

Iker Casillas criticized Lionel Messi’s victory in the 2021 Ballon d’Or. According to him, the award should be given to the best player of the season.

“I find it increasingly difficult to believe in these football awards,” Casillas wrote on his social media accounts Mark.

“For me, Messi is one of the five best footballers of all time, but they have to start paying attention to who was the best player of the season.”

“It’s not that difficult. The others make it so difficult,” Casillas said.
