Reported by The Sun Saturday (17/10/2020), he teaches History and Geography, and is a figure liked by his students.
Paty was murdered while walking home from school in Conflans-Saint-Honorine, located 30 kilometers from Paris.
He was beheaded using a kitchen knife, wherein the killer was identified as Abdullakh Anzorov, an 18-year-old Chechen teenager.
Aboulakh was later shot dead by police when he fled after killing the 47-year-old teacher and refusing to be detained.
The spokesman for the Russian Embassy to France, Sergei Parinov, told TASS quoted AFP stated that Anzorov had nothing to do with his country.
“This crime has nothing to do with Russia because this person has lived in France for the last 12 years,” said Parinov.
He explained that the 18-year-old had come to “Wine Country” with his six-year-old family, where they were seeking asylum.
Anzorov is known to have obtained a residence permit this year. “He didn’t contact the Russian embassy at all,” Parinov continued.
Shows caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad
The root causes of Paty’s murder began ten days ago, when he presented the caricature as part of the material for freedom of expression.
At that time, Paty invited Muslim students who did not like his teaching to leave the classroom. However, there is one student who lives in the class.
The student then recounted Paty’s teaching to his father, who was angry and then filed a complaint at the school.
The unidentified student’s parents organized an online campaign demanding Paty be fired, and asked to meet with the school leader.
The father later described both Paty’s identity and the address of the daughter’s school on the internet, insisting “this must stop”.
One colleague said that Paty immediately received death threats a few days after she gave the material.
“Samuel has angered the parents by showing the caricature in his class, so he got threats,” said the colleague.
Based on the statements of anti-terror prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard, Anzorov is known to have come to school on Friday afternoon and asked where Paty was.
As soon as Paty was beheaded and Anzorov shot dead, the police moved quickly to arrest the nine people who were held responsible.
Four of them were reported to be relatives of Anzorov, then one of the five remaining were parents of students who revealed Paty’s identity.
“A good listener”
Education Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer condemned the video posted by the student’s father, calling it “the greatest scandal”.
“Every child must get an understanding that they are lucky to be able to study in France and live in a democratic country,” he said.
The parents and students of the school where Paty taught on Saturday laid flowers and showed solidarity.
Hugo, a former student, revealed that Paty was a great person, very supportive, and a good listener in class.
“Everyone gave his opinion when he taught, and it was very fun. Now, he is gone. We cannot give up,” explained the anonymous student.
Nordine Chaouadi, whose child received instruction from Paty said, the teacher never provoked when he showed the caricature of the Prophet Muhammad.
“My son even said he was a super likable person. He never made arguments that were harassing in nature,” said Chaouadi.
Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Samuel Paty was killed because he tried to teach freedom of expression to his students.
