I will go to the Games! A humorous program with athletes from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté qualified for the Tokyo Olympics

The Tokyo Olympic Games begin on July 23, 2021. Among the many French athletes, several are from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Before their departure for the Olympics, they kindly took part in an unusual training session in the company of Titi, a real sportsman!

From July 23 to August 8, 2021, the Summer Olympic Games are held in Tokyo, then the Paralympic Games from August 24 to September 5, 2021.
15,000 athletes from 208 countries will compete in front of more than 3 billion viewers.

Among these top-level athletes, several are from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
Before they leave for Japan, Titi wants to give them some advice! Essential advice if they want to bring home a medal.

However Titi is above all a sportsman of living room: soon 40 years old, he measures 1m65 and weighs 10 kilos too much.
At each major sports competition broadcast on TV, it is the athlete’s fire that is rekindled in him. To provide his advice, Titi has the chance to share the training of these champions. He therefore leaves the softness of his sofa to confront the truth on the ground.

From rifle shooting to wheelchair rugby, including Judo, saber or cycling, Titi believes he is able to compete with any high-level athlete. But reality quickly catches up with him!
As presumptuous as he is endearing, determined as he is clumsy, Titi ends up realizing that a gulf separates him from these athletes who devote long hours of training to the fulfillment of their dream: the Olympic dream.

It is in Dijon that our sportsman more than amateur decides to face Bolade Apithy, the only French representative in men’s saber for the Tokyo Olympics.
This 35-year-old athlete is a quadruple French champion in the individual saber and twice winner of the World Cup.
A warm-up before taking the saber that Titi is not ready to forget!

Direction the banks of the Marne, to Joinville-le-Pont, where Marie Jacquet awaits our living room sportsman.
The 27-year-old is the winner of the 2021 national tests and qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the rowing discipline – sculls with Emma Lunatti, Margaux Bailleul and Violaine Aernoudts.
Despite all his good will Titi, our apprentice rower, quickly leaves his boat to follow the champion in a motor boat. A short break since Marie continues her training in a room where Titi has to do some exercises with her.

Sebastien verdin and Corentin Leguen welcome Titi to their room at Nuits-Saint-Georges.
The two young people qualified for the Tokyo Paralympic Games in the French wheelchair rugby team.
Titi is invited to sit in one of the armchairs to participate in the training. After a few minutes of play the conclusion of the two champions is final: it is really not made for this sport!

Armed with a rifle, Titi is in Belfort in the company ofAlain Quittet, 64, European team champion in 2018 in the standing 10-meter rifle category. The same year, he also obtained the titles of world champion by team – rifle 50 meters prone and the bronze medal – rifle 10 meter prone. Alain Quittet is qualified for the Tokyo Paralympic Games for the 10 and 50 meters lying down and the 10 meters standing.
Very sure of himself, Titi is quickly put back in place by this champion who challenges him with a shot on a tiny target!

It is in the rain of Vesoul that Titi joins Julien casoli, bronze medalist in the 4 x 400 meters T53-T54 at the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008 and bronze medalist 5,000 meters T54 at the Paralypic Jeaux in London in 2012. This athlete is qualified at the Tokyo Paralympic Games for the 400 meters – 800 meters – 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters relay.
Installed in an adapted chair, difficult for our “couch athlete” to follow the champion. Julien Casoli has plenty of time to do several laps of the track while Titi is struggling to cover more than a kilometer!

At Blanc-Mesnil, Titi has an appointment on a tatami with Margaux Pinot. Originally from Besançon, the judoka is double European champion and world medalist. She qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the middleweight category, under 70 kg.
After having closely studied the different holds with the help of a technical memo, he launched into a few warm-ups before engaging in the fight with the champion …

Beside his bike on a small country road in the Doubs, Titi barely sees the tornado which invites him to follow him! It is Juliette Labous, elite French champion 2020 against the clock which has just passed with a bang. She will represent France in the online event and the time trial at the Tokyo Olympics.

Titi has decided to provide advice to Léa Ferney, bronze medalist at the European Para Table Tennis Championship – women’s singles in 2019 and qualified for the Tokyo Paralympic Games – women’s singles. Suffice to say that the exchanges of balls ended in simple trips …

Titi has an appointment in Bernardin Kingué Matam’s training room. This high level athlete is double European weightlifting champion (2017 and 2019). He qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the weightlifting category under 67 kg.
A discipline in which our sportsman of living room is far from making the weight!

Titi, known as “Le Poisson”, is on the starting block of the Carroussel de Dijon swimming pool basin. He is joined by the swimmer Charles Rozoy, multi-medalist at the European and World Championships in the 100-meter butterfly.
This 34-year-old athlete also won the gold medal in his discipline at the Paralympic Games in London in 2012. Although he did not qualify for the Tokyo Olympics, he misused himself into training. with Titi.
The latter, after having timidly removed his bathrobe, sets off in a 50-meter freestyle … very quickly caught by the champion!
