Users of social networking sites shared videos of crowds participating, today, Monday, at the funeral of Pakistani atomic scientist, Abdul Qadeer Khan, in Islamabad.
The video clip shows thousands of people attending the funeral of Abdul Qadeer Khan, a nuclear scientist known as the “father of Pakistan’s nuclear bomb”.
Users of the communication sites indicated that thousands of people from Islamabad and the surrounding cities were keen to participate in Khan’s funeral ceremonies, which started from a mosque in the Pakistani capital, despite heavy rain.
On Sunday, the family of Abdul Qadeer Khan, the architect of Pakistan’s nuclear program, announced his death at the age of 85. Pakistanis celebrate Abdul Qadeer Khan as a national hero who made his country the world’s first Islamic nuclear power.
