The Frévent firefighters were mobilized, as were their counterparts from the Somme. The Saint-Pol gendarmerie company had also moved. The investigation carried out by the Picardy judicial authorities ultimately led to this judicial information from the murder chief. Initially, an investigation for manslaughter and hit-and-run was opened.

He couldn’t leave her

On Thursday, September 16, the victim’s companion finally confessed to investigators that his wife, from whom he had been separated for two years, was responsible for the accident. He would have understood this by observing the condition of his car which bore traces of shock and blood. Placed in custody the same day, the wife had admitted to deliberately hitting her husband’s friend.

Friday, the man again presented himself to investigators to admit having premeditated with his wife the murder of his new companion. He had in fact reconciled with his wife with whom he had a new relationship for three months and could not, according to his statements, break with his new partner.

The couple’s statements were corroborated by the findings made by investigators on the vehicle of the alleged murderer.

Placed in custody, the couple will still have to explain their motivations and the conditions of the preparation of this crime. These two people have no criminal record. The prosecution requested their imprisonment.
