After a five-week summer break, the Monster Energy British Grand Prix will be held on the famous Silverstone circuit. It was Friday for the first time that the MotoGP riders were introduced to the new format. For example, the first session on Friday morning was again a real free practice in which the lap times did not count for direct placement for the Q2 to be held on Saturday. Friday afternoon, on the other hand, was back to normal, as was the case for the first eight Grand Prix weekends of the season.
