Here is the ranking of the highest paid musicians in 2021

The magazine Rolling Stone unveiled the names of the highest-paid artists over the past 12 months. And like every year, the ranking still has a few surprises in store…

Not all artists have been hit hard by the crisis. Proof of this is with the ranking of the highest paid musicians in 2021, revealed by the American magazine Rolling Stone. If the Covid has put a brake on tours, one of the main sources of income artists, some icons have found other ways to make money.

Other activities to hit the jackpot

Bruce Springsteen pulled out of the game. He thus won first place with 590 million dollars garnered. He is followed by Jay-Z with $470 million and Paul Simon with $260 million. The only woman in the ranking is none other than Taylor Swift with 80 million dollars generated in the last 12 months.

According to information reported by Rolling Stones, some of these celebrities have been able to rely on other activities to reach the jackpot like selling music catalogs to record companies. For example, Bruce Springsteen sold the exploitation of his flagship songs to Sony for an estimated $500 million.

Partnerships, a good livelihood

Partnerships have also played an important role in this race for money. On the side of Jay-Z, of the 470 million dollars collected, 300 million come from the sales of his brand of champagne and its partnership with LVMH. As for Kanye West, who we find in fourth place in the ranking with 250 million dollars, the “vast majority” of its income comes from its collaboration with Adidas.

Taylor Swift was able to fill her bank account thanks to the release of the re-recordings of two of her albums, Fearless and Red, and its partnerships with Peloton and Strabucks.
