Pharrell Williams said he designed a special, tailored jumpsuit for Beyoncé’s tour that “celebrates her figure” and was “inspired by her “rare personality.”
The ‘Get Lucky’ hitmaker – who has been appointed creative director of Louis Vuitton Menswear – has detailed the design behind the 41-year-old singer’s black one-piece suit for her performance of ‘Formation’.
In a video clip posted to Louis Vuitton’s Instagram page, the star explained, “Beyoncé is a rare personality. The idea that I know her as a person and I’ve known her all along and our connection makes me feel like I’ve known this person for many lifetimes.” About the look that suits the hitmaker’s iconic curves and allowing her to move freely on stage, the artist added, “The idea here was to give her something that would allow her body to dictate the template. Not just his figure and shape. It is essentially shaped by her personality. Your body is literally a spiritual shell. He’s still celebrating her figure and her shape, but at the same time it makes her feel free to move.”
