Handball: Back to school for PSG Hand

After a truce marked by the Olympics, the French championship resumes this Friday in Coubertin against Istres (8 p.m. on beIN Sports 3). PSG Hand will aim to continue their streak of seven consecutive titles.

Four victories in preparation

Deprived of its team since June, the audience of Coubertin will find its red and blue this Friday at 8 p.m. in front of Istres (beIN Sports 3). Before the great upheaval of summer 2022, PSG Hand will be able to benefit from the relative stability of its team. Indeed, only Dylan Nahi and Viran Morros went to Kielce and Berlin respectively.

But this stability does not prevent the team from being currently in break-in, with half of its team having returned quite late from the Olympic Games in Tokyo. In difficulty during its preparation matches, Paris has nevertheless won each of its four friendlies: 31-36 in Créteil, 34-28 against Skjern, 31-35 in Chartres and 37-25 against Dunkirk.

Against Istres, PSG will have to continue its rise in power quite quickly since a first real revealing of its season will arrive next Thursday with the trip to Veszprém in the Champions League.

Eight Olympic medalists to celebrate

As is customary in Coubertin, the return to competition following the Olympic Games is an opportunity to celebrate the medalists. Great harvest this year with eight medalists, the five French gold medalists Vincent Gérard, Yann Genty, Nedim Remili, Nikola and Luka Karabatic, the two Danish silvers Mikkel Hansen and Henrik Toft Hansen and the tanned Spanish Ferran Sole. Supporters are encouraged to arrive at the stadium early to attend the prize-giving ceremony at 7:30 p.m. before the match.
