Futsal The season in the Niederrheinliga for Furious Futsal begins in two weeks. The club wants to play at the top. Advantage: You built up a youth earlier than other clubs.
Everywhere the sports are currently starting again in the league – also for Furious Futsal Mönchengladbach 07 (FF07) it will soon be that time again: After the corona-related long break, the club will start the new season of the Lower Rhine League on September 25th. The first opponent is then the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences (HSRW). A week later, Anadolu Krefeld will be looking for championship points for the second representation of the Vitusstädter in the Landesliga Group 1.
When looking at the squad of both teams, it is noticeable that many new players have been added, but some well-established players are now missing. The club is now benefiting from the fact that, even before the pandemic, it had managed to set up its own U19 according to the association’s wishes. Back then, the Gladbach company was one of the few teams that implemented this step. And from this U19, many players now belong to the senior division. So it’s a successful model for the FF07.
“Due to the long compulsory break, the establishment of a U19 league was postponed, but it’s not over yet. For the well-known reasons, we ourselves weren’t able to win any new players for the junior division during this time, ”says Bünyamin Türkhan. With the known reasons, the chairman of FF07 means the corona pandemic. “But we would be stupid if we couldn’t afford a U19. As the current squad also shows, it is the foundation for us. And there are really good guys there. That’s why we’re still looking for players between the ages of 16 and 18 or 19, ”says Türkhan.
This is also how Jamal Najah, Sports Director at FF07, sees it. “We now have a healthy mix of older, experienced and young, hungry players in both teams who are physically well ahead of us old people. We can play an important role in both leagues, ”he says.
Najah does not use the word promotion, but at least he trusts the first team to stand up to the big favorites in the league, Niederrhein Soccer: “We have all four games for ourselves in preparation, including against the higher-class Mülheimers decided. Now on Saturday we will play against Fortuna Düsseldorf, who will compete in the Bundesliga, which is taking place for the first time, and then we will see how far we really are. “
However, some players in the squad have to step back a bit for professional reasons and can only occasionally take part in training and games. There are changes in the coaching bench of the first team: Matthias Bongartz is no longer a player-coach, as he has no time for another mainstay besides his job, studies, football (with Viktoria Rheydt II) and family. He will be replaced by Yunus Emre Cetin, who has been active in the club for many years. He will lead the team in the future together with Selcuk Akyol, who will also take care of the second team in the national league.
