Good Omens 2: Good omens for July 28

Prime Video has published the premiere date of the highly anticipated second season of “Good Omens”, along with the official poster.

After the feat that was the first season, not only in the adaptation of the classic by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, but also in critics and the public, it was not surprising that Prime Video found a way to have them back. The new season will premiere on July 28 on Prime Video. Gaiman will satisfy fans’ hunger for more on-screen adventures from the beloved and unholy duo, with a completely original story.

[REVIEW] Good Omens: The End of the World is lovely

The season two premiere date was revealed on the 33rd anniversary of the original novel’s publication, Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Gaiman, which was the basis for the first season of the television series. As a special celebration for fans, Gaiman collaborated with The Hillywood Show superfans Hilly & Hannah Hindi to reveal the premiere date in a fan-supported video, “Good Omens Parody.”

Season two will explore the extraordinary friendship between Aziraphale, a fussy angel and seller of hard-to-get books, and the demon who lives life on the edge, Crowley. Having been on Earth since The Beginning, and having thwarted the Apocalypse, Aziraphale and Crowley are back living the easy life among the mortals of London’s Soho, when an unexpected messenger presents them with a startling mystery.

Good Omens season two stars Michael Sheen y David Tennant as the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, respectively. Also reinterpreting their roles they return Jon Hamm like the archangel Gabriel, Doon Mackichan like the archangel Michael, and Gloria Obianyo like the archangel Uriel. Returning this season with new roles are Miranda Richardson like the devil Shax, Maggie Service like Maggie and Nina Sosanya as Nina, with new faces to join these misfits in Heaven and Hell: Liz Carr like the angel Saraqael, Quelin Sepulveda like the angel Muriel and Shelley Conn like the demon Beelzebub.

Neil Gaiman continues to serve as executive producer and coshowrunner along with executive producer Douglas Mackinnon, who also returned to direct all six episodes. Narrativia’s Rob Wilkins, representing the Terry Pratchett estate is John Finnemore, and BBC Studios Productions lead comedy team Josh Cole are also executive producers, with Finnemore serving as a co-writer alongside Gaiman.

Good Omens is based on the international bestselling novel by Pratchett and Gaiman. The new season is produced by Amazon Studios, BBC Studios Productions, The Blank Corporation and Narrativia.
