A helpless person in the Ruhr was reported to the control center of the Mülheim an der Ruhr fire brigade around 10:00 a.m. this Sunday morning. This should be on the towpath in the area of ​​the flora bridge in the water. The water rescue platoon from Fire and Rescue Station 1 in Broich was immediately sent to the Florabrücke site under the keyword “person in the water”. Even before the arrival of the first rescue workers, witnesses who happened to be present and other passers-by rescued the elderly woman who was floating in the water and then looked after her in a stable lateral position. After the subsequent care by the rescue service and the emergency doctor, the injured elderly woman was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further examination. After about 30 minutes, the operation for the fire brigade and the rescue service was over.

The fire brigade expresses its thanks to the first responders, who saved the elderly woman from the greatest danger to her life with their quick and careful action. (HJF)
