Hanoi (VNA) – In the first five months of this year, the rate of disbursement of foreign loans reached only over 7.5%.
This rate was too low, estimated on June 11 the Vice-Minister of Finance, Tran Xuan Ha during a conference with the ministries and branches to assess the disbursement of official development assistance (ODA) in five months and measures to increase disbursement by the end of the year.
Vice Minister Tran Xuan Ha called on ministries, branches and project owners to take more drastic measures to complete the disbursement task.
According to data from the Ministry of Finance, as of June 10, the disbursement of public investment plans in 2021 from foreign sources of ministries and branches was 1.253 billion dong ($ 54.6 million), or 7.53% assigned estimates.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the slowness of ODA disbursements is due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the incomplete project investment procedures and the slowness in clearing the land.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Finance also asked the Ministry of Planning and Investment to collaborate with the bodies concerned to take stock and assess the disbursement of public investment capital in recent times, in order to better identify the difficulties. and to propose solutions to remedy them. -VNA
