Until Monday, May 8 at 6 o’clock, vehicle traffic will be closed on the section of the November 11 embankment from Akmens tilta to Muitas iela. Also, during the mentioned time period, the 11th of November street adjacent to the embankment, parallel to the Old Rīga side, in the section from Poļu gāte to Jauniela, will be closed to vehicular traffic.
If necessary, two-way traffic will be organized at Doma Square and Pils Street during this time. Today from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. two-way traffic will also be organized on Jauniela and Krāmu Street.
Today, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the “Rimi Riga Marathon”, a half marathon, a 10 kilometer (km) and a 5 km race will take place.
Therefore, from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., vehicle traffic will be restricted and closed in several streets of the center of Riga up to Zirņu and Senču streets, in Ķīpsala and Pārdaugava around Buļļu street and Slokas street.
During the event, stopping and parking of vehicles will be prohibited in several places, and vehicles left behind will be moved to the nearest permitted parking place.
As Baiba Bartaševiča-Feldmane, the representative of “Rīgas satiksme” informed the agency LETA, on Sunday during the marathon from 6:30 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m., changes are expected in many public transport routes, as well as some routes will be closed.
In addition, traffic regulation during the event will be carried out by the State Police, so additional changes may be made if necessary.
