- Guide external regulatory audits as a management representative of all facilities in Canada to ensure compliance with environmental and occupational health and safety legal requirements;
- Contribute to ensuring operational activities meet Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001) requirements by ensuring proper procedural documentation and operational compliance ;
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and requirements to meet R2:V3 certification at all sites;
- Develop a list of preventive and corrective health, safety and environmental measures associated with the compliance program and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and corporate ethical standards;
- Support the entire process of a complex system of regulatory records;
- Develop and maintain a proactive culture of respect for health, safety and the environment throughout the company;
- Recommend corrective actions or action plans to address compliance and risk issues, coordinate and follow up, prevent similar issues from recurring;
- Provide technical advice with respect to industry standards and occupational health and safety and environmental requirements.
- Keep documentation up to date: emergency plan, internal procedures;
- Build a relationship with regulatory bodies (EPRA, RPRA, CESA, ARMA) and other industry members to better understand regulatory changes.
What you bring:
- Fully bilingual and able to read and write proficiently in English and French.
- Relevant post-secondary education is required.
- Work experience and, preferably, participation in the creation and management of a multi-level document system based on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, in an industrial production context.
- A leader who has participated in the certification audit process and prepared the workplace and employees for certification audits and third-party monitoring.
- Able to travel as required, to support third party audits in remote company facilities.
- Ability to create clear written work instructions, studying operational processes and creating new documents to use for training and compliance.
- Attention to detail is required to update and maintain a complex system of multi-standard documents in English and French.
- A clear communicator, able to present complex issues to senior management, both orally and in writing as required.
