Discover the Orange Blossom at Chanel’s Immersive Garden Experience

In 2003, an event dedicated to the garden came to the heart of the Tuileries. Nearly 20 years later, Jardins, jardin has become a unique event attracting more than 20,000 visitors each time. And this year again, Chanel will be there.

Present at the rendezvous for several years, the House of Chanel, will not miss the call this year. After having honored the camellia (in 2022) or the centifolia rose (2018), the Orange Blossom will be the star of this 2023 edition! In the program ? A unique and immersive visit “from flower to perfume” which will allow you to discover the orange blossom or sour orange tree sector (citrus oranges) that Chanel, associated with the Mul family, preserves and develops in organic farming, in the Pays de Grasse … through a 200m² garden, in the heart of Paris!

Gourmet, delicate, flowery, orange blossom is one of the most popular ingredients in the world of Perfumery! It is found in many fragrances … including the iconic CHANEL N°5, whose composition has remained unchanged since its creation in 1921! If the recipe for the iconic perfume remains secret, Chanel has agreed to reveal a little more about one of its mysterious ingredients:orange blossom essential oil, called neroli. A precious elixir that smells of the South! And for good reason, it is from its official supplier, on the Côte d’Azur and in the Pays Grassois, that Chanel obtains its exceptional flowers (jasmine, May rose, tuberose, iris Pallida, etc.). Harvested by hand, between the end of April and the beginning of May, the bitter orange flowers are then distilled in a nearby factory, at the end of the flower fields of Pégomasin keeping with Chanel’s attachment to an exceptional, demanding, artisanal and practical culture: one of the secrets of the House’s precious elixir. “I like the idea that the perfume, so immaterial and impalpable, comes from something concrete, real and very artisanal, like the earth, the flowers, the picking”concedes Olivier Polge, Perfumer-Creator of Chanel perfumes.
