Daniel Ricciardo starts at the back of GP Turkey | Motorsport

Ricciardo was eliminated in the first qualifying round on Saturday and had to start from fifteenth place. On Sunday, motorsports association FIA declared that the McLaren team had fitted a new combustion engine. As this is the fourth iteration of any event exceeding the season’s allowable number, Ricciardo will have to start from the back row. There he will meet Spaniard Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), who was penalized for the same reason at the start of the weekend.

Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), fastest in qualifying, will start from 11th after a 10-place penalty for replacing a part of his engine earlier this weekend.
