Colombia – Brazil Tip & Odds for Sunday, October 10th 2021 – 11:00 pm – Estadio Nemesio Camacho “El Campin” in Bogotá

On Sunday evening, Colombia will host Brazil in the South American World Cup qualifiers. For Los Caféteros it’s really about the sausage, but they meet an opponent with a perfect victory record so far. For the online betting providers, the guests are slightly favorites.

Colombia: current form, statistics & lineup

For Colombia with Frankfurt’s Rafael Borré and Copa America hero Luis Díaz from FC Porto it will be very close. Your fifth place so far only entitles you to a play-off place, as sixth you would be completely out of the race. On the other hand, they could overtake Ecuador and Uruguay with a win.

They last met Brazil in the group stage of the Copa America. Luis Díaz took the lead after ten minutes after an assist from Juan Cuadrado, but Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino and Real Madrid’s Casemiro turned the encounter in favor of the Seleçao shortly before the end.

Traditionally, Los Caféteros have difficulties in football with their large neighboring country. They have only defeated this opponent three times since 1945. Most recently they achieved the feat in 2015 at the Copa America in the group stage with a 1-0, which defender Jeison Murillo scored.

Coach Reinaldo Rueda has the stars Juan Cuadrado from Juventus Turin, Wilmar Barrios from Zenit Saint Petersburg, Duván Zapata from Atalanta Bergamo, Davinson Sánchez from Tottenham, Yerry Mina from FC Everton and veteran Radamel Falcao from Rayo Vallecano.

The country took part in a World Cup six times and, in their opinion, they would like to add a seventh appearance in Qatar.

Form and last games:

Colombia has not yet lost in the World Cup qualifiers in South America. There were wins against Peru (3: 0) and Chile (3: 1) and annoying four draws against Argentina (2: 2), Bolivia (1: 1), Paraguay (1: 1) and most recently Uruguay (0: 0) that resulted in not being placed higher.

At the Copa America in the summer, after failing in the semi-finals at Argentina, third place was achieved with a 3-2 win against Peru.

Expected line-up:

Ospina – Medina, Mina, Cuesta, Mojica – Cuadrado, Wilmar Barrios, Uribe, Luis Díaz – Borré, Falcao

Youngster Carlos Cuesta von Genk had ousted Davinson Sánchez from the starting line-up against Chile and Uruguay and is therefore in the likely eleven. Frankfurt’s Rafael Borré has fought for his place since June of this year and actually always plays at least a few minutes.

Colombia vs. Brazil tip:
Brazil wins 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1

Typical close results of the Seleçao last.

Brazil: current form, statistics & lineup

A win in Bogotá could Brazil have already qualified for the World Cup, depending on what Paraguay does in Chile on Monday. There are only five games left to play and therefore a maximum of 15 points could be lost.

In any case, nobody believes that the Seleçao will not reach a World Cup for the first time. The only question is when she will be able to lift the golden World Cup trophy into the sky for the sixth time.

In addition to some players from the Brazilian league, coach Tite also trusts well-known names from Europe such as Neymar (photo), Marquinhos, Gabriel Jesus, Ederson, Alisson, Danilo, Alex Sandro, Éder Militão, Vinícius Júnior, Fred or the last outstanding Arthur Cabral from FC Basel.

Form and last games:

Brazil enjoys its flawless record of victories, which seem minimalistic with many 1-0 and 2-0, as Italy always does. The only opponents who broke their long winning streak were Argentina in the Copa America final (0-1) and then the 1-1 draw against Ecuador in the same tournament.

Expected line-up:

Alisson – Danilo, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Guilherme Arana – Éverton Ribeiro, Fabinho, Gerson, Paquetá – Jesus, Neymar

Roberto Firmino is missing injured, which is why Neymar is back in the expected starting line-up. Leeds’ Raphinha is an even more offensive variant for the right side than Éverton Ribeiro from Flamengo Rio de Janeiro, whereby coach Tite will decide on fitness and daily form.
