Krefeld The Crefeld HTC got off to a good start in the new season. In order to achieve the big goal of immediate promotion, the hockey second division must become even more stable on the defensive.
After the extremely successful start for the two teams of the second division hockey club Crefelder HTC, the women are headed straight for a double weekend in Northern Germany. In terms of paper, a somewhat easier task is on the other hand for the men who will compete at the newly promoted Bonn THV.
In the 2-0 opening win against Blau-Weiß Köln, the CHTC women were defensively stable and often happy to play on the offensive. On Saturday they will play at TG Heimfeld, which landed three places behind the team from the silk city last year and also started the season with a win. On Sunday it goes against Eintracht from Braunschweig. “Braunschweig already presented itself well at the League Cup and ended up just ahead of us last season. They are difficult tasks and the outcome is very open. Three points would be okay for us, four really good and six of course top, ”coach Andre Schiefer classifies the opponents. Captain Nike Michler is also optimistic: “We have a good feeling from the game against Cologne and are looking forward to the two games in Hamburg.”
The CHTC men from coach Ronan Gormley, on the other hand, are the clear favorites in their duel with Bonn. In the second game of the season they do not want to leave any doubts about their goal of “immediate promotion”. “The squad will probably be the same,” says Gormley. “We’ve analyzed some of the topics we’ve been working on this week.”
These issues are mainly to be found on the defensive, where the Seidenstädter were a bit too vulnerable against Marienburg despite the clear 4-0 victory. The focus is again on the newcomers Nicola Acosta, who scored twice, and keeper Adrian Henriquez Haug. The Bonn team, who were opponents of the second men of the CHTC last year, conceded a clear defeat against Neuss at the beginning and still have to find their way up to the league level.
With the 6: 1, the Neuss team also lead the first table, while the women’s Bremen HC is at the top.
