Arsenal aims to buy a 17-year-old prodigy
Jorrel Hato is an adult player from the Ajax training academy. In 2022, the 17-year-old player was promoted to the first team. Up to this point, Hato has appeared in a total of 40 matches for the Ajax first team and scored 1 goal.
Hato has a height of 1m82 and is left-footed. In addition to his natural position as centre-back, he can also play well as a left-back. Up to this point, the player born in 2006 has had the honor of wearing the captain’s armband of the Ajax first team twice.

Thanks to his progress in the Ajax shirt, Hato was called up to the Netherlands national team by coach Ronald Koeman in November 2023 and was put on the field to replace captain Virgil van Dijk in the match against Gibraltar in the EURO 2024 qualifiers.
According to the Telegraph, coach Mikel Arteta is considering Jorrel Hato as a potential target to recruit in this winter transfer window. Arteta really admires Hato’s calm playing style, ability to judge situations, and versatility. He is ready to convince the “Gunners” Board of Directors to spend 25 million pounds to recruit this young talent.
Currently, Arsenal’s defense is in a personnel crisis when Jurrien Timber and Oleksandr Zinchenko are injured, and Takehiro Tomiyasu has to play with the Japanese national team at the 2024 Asian Cup. Therefore, coach Arteta wants to have a recovery soon. Hato’s role is to increase options in the defense.
However, it will not be easy for Arsenal to succeed in this deal soon, because Ajax does not want to sell its “rough gem”. Meanwhile, Hato also wants to continue to stay at Johan Cruyff Arena at least until the end of the season to continue developing himself.
