Remedy Entertainment has released a short gameplay clip of Alan Wake 2, which focuses on the so-called ‘Mind Place’.
The ‘Mind Place’ is a place in the head of main character Saga Anderson where she can investigate all kinds of clues, which manifests itself in the game as a physical location. The Mind Place, according to Remedy, can be visited at almost any point in the game with the push of a button.
In Alan Wake 2, players control not only the titular writer, but also FBI agent Saga Anderson. She investigates the mysterious murders in Bright Falls, leading her to Wake, who went missing thirteen years ago. Players can switch between these characters and in this way determine for themselves what kind of experience they get.
The first Alan Wake appeared in 2010. In it, the titular writer searches for his missing wife in the village of Bright Falls. Meanwhile, he seems to be slowly losing his mind. Remedy’s other games include Control and Quantum Break.
Alan Wake 2 will be released on October 17 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. The publisher is Epic Games and at the time of writing it says no physical release of the game planned.
