Nikon1 became the third additional purchase following V1 and J3. I used V1 the other day and it still works. The J5 this time skips over the J4, so it has everything I wanted from the J3, such as a touch panel, movable monitor, and NFC. Camera magazines have complained that the menu screen is different from Nikon’s Digi-1, but the basics haven’t changed since V1. Since the CMOS is also made by SONY, it has become highly sensitive as a member of the SONY type 1 series. As for usability, it would be best if you could attach a terminal for connecting a Nikon 1 strobe and an external microphone. Then the Nikon1 V3 becomes meaningless. It seems that writing to other memory is slow, so you may not need a very fast microSDHC card. Also, I bought a spare battery.
