Adama Traore has been back in the FC Barcelona jersey for two months. There is no guarantee that this will be the case beyond this season.
FC Barcelona are financially unable to manage Adama Traore’s permanent move. According to Sport, the winger’s purchase will only go ahead should Barça not have to pay the €30m purchase option negotiated with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Agent Jorge Mendes has known this since the negotiations in January and is currently trying to do everything possible to ensure that Traore can continue to pursue his vocation with the Blaugrana in the years to come.
The first option is a pure swap deal with Francisco Trincao, who is on loan from Barça to Wolves until the end of the season. The winger is hardly used in Molineux and recently even complained about it publicly.
Another scenario would be offsetting with Riqui Puig, in which the Wolves should signal interest. On the other hand, it seems extremely questionable that Traore will extend his contract, which expires in 2023, and then be loaned to Catalonia again for free.
