ABBA returns to UK Top 10 singles

Don’t Shut Me Down (Don’t reject me) went straight to 9e rank of the British charts. The title is the second most downloaded of the week and has been streamed 2.3 million times, the ranking body said.

This is ABBA’s first UK Top 10 single since One of Us, in January 1982, he said.

It is also the twentieth single of the group to appear in the British Top 10. Another track from the new album, I Still Have Faith in You (I still believe in you), ranked 14e rank. The two new singles are taken from Voyage, ABBA’s first studio album since The Visitors in 1981.

Septuagenarians and dashing

Its release was announced at an event last week in London, marking the return that fans have been promising for years.

The four members of ABBA – an acronym made up of the initials of their first names (Anni-Frid Lyngstad, 75, Agnetha Fältskog, 71, Björn Ulvaeus, 76, and Benny Andersson, 74), had parted ways in 1982.

Voyage, an album of 10 tracks, including eight new songs and two new versions (Just a Notion and Bumblebee ), will be released on November 5.

The group known for its heady hits and seventies outfits will also launch a new show which will begin next May in a 3000-seat theater specially designed for the occasion in east London.

It will unroll in an hour and a half their tubes, interpreted by improved holograms presenting them young.
