A violent fire destroys a 2,000 m2 building in an industrial sector in Cohade, near Brioude (Haute-Loire)

The impressive plume of smoke, which rose in the sky, on the edge of the municipalities of Brioude and Cohade, rue des Vignauts, this Wednesday, December 8, around 5.30 p.m., testified to the importance of the fire, which completely destroyed a building of approximately 2,000 m2. When the firefighters arrived, the structure was completely set ablaze, flames several meters high devoured the interior and the frame, releasing threatening sparks for two companies installed nearby, one specializing in roofing. and the other in the manufacture of cartons. At the height of the fire, staff were also invited to leave the premises for safety reasons.

Some 25 firefighters from the centers of Brioude, Bournoncle-Arvant, Paulhaguet, Langeac, Lempdes-sur-Allagnon, Sainte-Florine and Saint-Vincent were mobilized to fight the flames with three fire vans, two tank trucks and ‘other intervention vehicles. They are called to stay put until the fire is completely extinguished.

The gendarmerie investigation to determine the origin of the fire was entrusted to the Brioude search brigade.

A team of Enedis was on the scene as well as the mayor of the municipality of Cohade.
