The students in marketing techniques at the IUT d’Allier, on the Montluçon campus (Allier), were present this Saturday, October 9 in several municipalities in the Montluçonnais basin to carry out the Roses Project.
Installed in Chamblet, Commentry, Huriel, Villebret, Lavault-Sainte-Anne, Saint-Victor, Domérat, Prémilhat, as well as in Montluçon, on the boulevard de Courtais and in the Saint-Jacques zone, they thus sold roses for the profit of three associations: Parentèle (family mediation, parenting support, marriage and family counseling), Solal (food solidarity) and Unapei (national union of associations of parents, people with intellectual disabilities, and their friends).
The roses project: an action by the students of the IUT d’Allier for local associations
An exercise for students
“We carried out this project from A to Z,” explains Timo Besson, one of the students, on Boulevard de Courtais.
“We took care of ordering the stock of roses to organize the sale, we distributed leaflets, we asked for authorizations to be able to sell …”

The objective of this event: to allow young people to put into practice the techniques studied in training, while raising funds for several associations. “This allows us to learn to prospect, to put sales techniques into practice. “
Timo Besson thus had, with Marie-Léa Culetto and Margot Branger, a hundred roses for sale. “Everything went well, even if I stammered a little at the beginning … which made people laugh”, underlines the young man. The two young women also congratulate each other: “We managed to sell our stock fairly quickly. As it is an event that takes place every year [avec à chaque fois une nouvelle promotion d’étudiants, NDLR], there were some people waiting for us. “
